We need the product dimensions and weight, preferred box style, finished size, material and insert direction, finishes, accessories, quantity, required date, shipping method, final artwork and acceptance criteria. A real product sample is strongly recommended for fitted inserts.
What should be approved at the sample stage?
Approve dimensions with the real product, insert fit and removal, every accessory, opening feel, paper and board, actual print and finish appearance, fold and turn-in locations, shipping resistance and the final artwork version. Physical approval is more reliable than a screen proof alone.
Which specifications are locked after sample approval?
Structure, dimensions, board, wrap, finishes, artwork version, insert tooling and accessory specifications are locked. A late size change can invalidate the die line and insert; changes to paper, artwork or accessories can require new plates, purchases, sampling and a revised lead time.
What are buyers' ten most common product questions?
Use the real product for insert sampling whenever possible. Foil can wear if left unprotected. Only purpose-designed collapsible rigid boxes ship flat. Production color can closely match but not be physically identical to every sample. EVA protects better while paper is easier to recycle. Magnet strength is adjustable. Ocean freight moisture risk can be reduced but not eliminated. Rigid-box MOQ typically starts at 500 units. Insert-only orders are possible if the box interior is fixed. Under dry storage, many paper boxes remain serviceable for about 1-2 years.
What are buyers' ten most common quality questions?
A signed sample defines acceptable batch variation. Typical rigid-box gaps are about 0.3-0.8 mm and should be even. Minor material movement can occur with humidity, but severe warp is defective. Transit damage is reduced through testing and protection, not guaranteed to be zero. Flocking, magnets, mounting, foil registration, drawer feel and fold durability are all checked against practical tolerances and functional limits.
What are buyers' ten most common material and finish questions?
Small rigid boxes often use 2.0-2.5 mm board, standard boxes 2.5-3.0 mm and large heavy packs 3.0-3.5 mm. Matte film is refined but marks more easily; gloss film resists wear. Foil generally costs more than UV, and exposed foil wears sooner. EVA protects best, EPE is economical and paper grids are recyclable. Specialty papers and water-based adhesives require process and export-market verification.
