A pre-production sample is a decision tool. It should confirm that structure, graphics, materials and the packing method work together before the production quantity is released.
Confirm the structure with the real product
Place the actual product, accessories and documents inside the sample. Check movement, pressure points, lid clearance, opening direction and how easily the product can be removed.
Confirm materials and colour under real light
Review the board rigidity, surface paper, texture, lamination and printed colour. View the sample in more than one lighting condition and compare it with an approved reference where possible.
Confirm every finishing detail
Inspect foil edges, registration, embossing depth, spot UV position, corner wrapping, ribbon length and magnet alignment. Small details can influence the perceived quality of the entire pack.
Confirm the packing and distribution route
The finished sample should fit the intended inner packing and shipping carton. Consider assembly time, protective materials, stacking and the way the box will be handled before it reaches the customer.
Record approval clearly
List every approved feature and every required correction. Updated artwork, dimensions and finish references should be controlled so the production team works from one final version.
